VW Passat CC Review

With more than 15 million cars built, the Passat and Passat Variant rank among the great success of automotive history. Now Volkswagen is extending the reach of this line of car models by adding a third dimension: the Passat CC. Fully independent body design, interior with bucket seats in the rear individual sport transmission system is also impressive and technologically feasible highlights the luxury class, joined together to create a unique vehicle in the Passat segment. Passat CC is a stylish and dynamic sedan, coupe simultaneously. The concept and design of the Volkswagen that defines fresh, new directions beyond the traditional.
Engine with direct injection gasoline and diesel of 140 hp, 160 hp and 300 hp
At launch in Europe, 4.8 meter long Volkswagen will be offered with two petrol engines with direct injection (TSI and V6) as well as turbo-diesel (TDI). Gasoline engines output 118 kW / 160 hp and kW 220 / 300 PS, turbo-diesel develops 103 kW / 140 PS and already meet the Euro-5 emission effect in autumn 2009. At power level, the Passat CC TDI consumes just 5.8 liters of diesel and 213 km / h fast. Among the most economical petrol engines in its class, with a fuel consumption average of 7.6 liters per 100 kilometers is 222 KMH fast Passat CC TSI. CC Passat 4MOTION V6 is electronically limited to 250 km / h, fuel consumption average is 10.1 liters. Standard equipment on the top V6 model: a new generation of drive 4MOTION full-time four-wheel and the new adaptive chassis control and very efficient DSG dual clutch.
Premiere at Volkswagen: "Lane Assist" and "DCC adaptive chassis control"
As innovative as the powertrain technologies are the driver assistance systems of the Passat CC. Also introduced for the first time at Volkswagen is the "Lane Assist" lane-keeping system and new "DCC adaptive chassis control". Other high-end technology including the "Park Assist" parking assistant and "ACC automatic distance control" with "Front Assist" for braking distance reduction.
Vent sunroof extends from A to B-pillar to pillar-
Furthermore, the Passat CC is putting on the screen all the interesting fireworks with other innovative solutions and detailed. Newly developed, for example, the panoramic sunroof is electrically operated fan. Transparent roof is 750 millimeters long and 1120 mm in width. This means that it covers the front pillar to B. In this case, the transverse beam on the glass also in black. The electric motor "panoramic roof ventilation" can spin up to 40 millimeters.
Frameless doors, climate seats, new climate control system and new instruments
They include small details that have a big impact. Such as the unique guide system for the side windows in the frameless coupé doors, which does not offer a surface to catch the wind. Climate control functions are very effective for car seats (active climate seat). Until now this feature is only provided for the convenience of a luxury sedan Phaeton. In the summer months the active climate seat provides significantly improved comfort of a long journey. Also new is the climate control system ("Climatronic") of the Passat CC, the visualization is now integrated in the radio and navigation systems. There is also a new layout and design of the instrument with the chrome bezel. Similar to the Phaeton, instrument signs and numbers are not backlit in blue, rather they glow white light. Sports car like: When the ignition is started the instrument pointers all briefly PEG their positions.
New USB interface for iPod and Co.

Also recently developed is the "MEDIA-IN" multimedia socket. This USB interface can be used to integrate iPods and many other current MP3 and DVD player in a particular audio system installed on the Passat CC. The USB port is located in the glove box. Control is by radio or navigation system of the Passat CC. Title information is also displayed on the screen.
Ban Passat CC "repair themselves"
Another excellent example of perfect attention to the smallest detail is the "mobility tire" from Continental being introduced for the first time on a Volkswagen, it is standard equipment in every Passat CC version. German tire manufacturers to develop this technology, called ContiSeal, as a system that enables continued driving despite penetration by nails or screws:. A protective layer on the inner surface of the tire area immediately seals holes caused by penetration of foreign objects this way, air can not escape the sealing process works for nearly any leaks caused by objects up to five millimeters in diameter .. About 85 percent of a typical tire so it can be avoided.
Extensive standard equipment including air conditioning and 17-inch alloy wheels
Passat CC - which is intentionally offered in just one luxurious equipment variant - is positioned at the premium end of the middle class cars. Many standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels ("Phoenix" type) with size 235 tires, chrome accents (interior and exterior), four ergonomic sport seats (seating systems respectively at the rear), new design three-spoke leather -wrapped steering, climate control, ESP electronic stabilization program and automatic headlamp switching.
Advance sales started in Western Europe, North America and Japan to follow in 2008
The main markets for the Passat CC are North America, Western Europe and Japan. This Volkswagen - built at the German plant in Emden - can already be booked in European countries the most. From the fourth quarter Volkswagen will also introduce the Passat CC in the U.S., Canada and Japan.
Glimpse of the technology highlights on the Passat:

"Lane Assist": This is the Active Lane Keeping System on the Passat CC automatically when it detects that the orientation of the Passat CC could leave its tracks by accident, a real advantage for the comfort and safety. About 14 percent of all accidents involving injuries caused by a vehicle leaving its driving lane. "Lane Assist" can contribute to reducing this accident rate. In addition, if the driver put the turn signal to intentionally change lanes, "Lane Assist" does not.
"DCC adaptive chassis control":. The new car "adaptive chassis control" system by Volkswagen combines the sportiness of a coupé with the comfort of a luxury sedan in one car over Parallel to feature suspension damping adjustment, power steering system is controlled too. "Adaptive chassis control" offers three programs "Normal", "Sport" and "Comfort". Which determine here is the fact that the suspension system continues to adapt to road and driving situation and therefore constantly improve comfort and dynamic properties.
"Park Assist": Another high-end technology is the "Park Assist" system park assist. It automatically guides the Passat CC into a parking space by pressing the button. The driver no longer needs to steer in this case, but instead just accelerates and brakes.
"ACC automatic distance control": When "ACC" is activated, the Passat CC automatically brakes and accelerates the speed range (0 to 210 km / h) input by the driver of the car before. Thanks to "Front Assist", the system can also prevent some cases of frontal collisions. In advance of certain situations, preventive system puts the brakes in a preconditioned state, thereby functioning as a system to reduce the stopping distance ("AWV"). "Front Assist" also warns the driver of hazardous situations by visual signals and acoustic. Even more:. If a minimum driving distance is not maintained, in extreme cases the system brakes the Passat CC at the stop ("follow-to-stop") However, it does not relieve drivers of responsibility and allow them to intervene in the process at any time.
