Top BMW's fastest ever soft, BMW M6 Convertible, debuting at the 2006 British International Motor. In line with the ethos of marrying high level of BMW M power naturally aspirated engines with the intelligent use of lightweight materials, the M6 Convertible has some special technology. Front wings are made of thermoplastic, a material lighter than aluminum, but also flexible enough to allow small bumps, while the front and rear bumpers are constructed from carbon fiber for durability. Cover and back cover bootlid soft-top is manufactured from sheet molding compounds, other materials that are flexible and lightweight. The rest of the body is a mixture of steel and aluminum, while the mechanical elements of many cars are made of aluminum weight gain. These materials combine to ensure that maintaining weight M6 Convertible BMW's renowned 50:50 distribution for optimum balance and agility.
To complement the sporty design of the BMW M6 Convertible, it features a custom 19-inch double-spoke light alloy wheels shod with low profile performance tires - 255/40 R19 in front with 285/35 R19 rear. Large vented and drilled high performance brakes deliver excellent stopping power. Measuring 374mm diameter front discs while the rear is 370mm.
